BILLET
TIMET billet products have round, square, or rectangular cross-sections, with an area equal to or greater than
16 square inches (103 cm squared). Billet differs from bloom in that it has alpha/beta processed a refined
microstructure/macrostructure.
Billet can be made from either standard or premium quality ingots. TIMET billet can be lathe-turned to a
maximum length of 20 feet (6096 mm). The surface of a square or rectangular billet is ground. TIMET GFM
forged or centerless ground product can be produced in the smaller billet sizes and a maximum length of 20
feet (6096 mm). It can be ordered to exact, multiple, or random length specifications.
Billet can be contact or immersion ultrasonic tested.
