Timet

Engines

TIMET is the leader in the production and development of titanium for rotating engine applications.

The jet engine is the heart of any commercial aircraft, providing thrust and power to the aircraft systems.

Titanium alloys are highly-engineered materials critical to meeting the performance demands of jet engines. These sophisticated alloys are found in fan blades and discs, front bearing housings, compressor and turbine blades, discs, vanes, and hydraulic tubing.

The Leader In Rotating Engine Applications

TIMET is the leader in the production and development of titanium for rotating engine applications and has maintained this leadership since we were founded in 1950.

TIMET has led the way in developing new titanium alloys and production techniques to meet ever tighter standards for high-temperature performance, creep resistance, strength and metallurgical structure. Our electron beam (EB) melting and forging processes produce products with the most refined metallurgical structure in the industry to yield reliable, defect-free parts downstream.

Developing Cleaner Technologies

Today, the requirements to increase aircraft fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions and noise pollution are driving OEMs to produce engines with higher bypass ratios, which run hotter and require more titanium.

TIMET works with the engine manufacturers to develop specialty alloys and processing technologies that meet our customers’ changing needs.
